In this video, our dearly-missed Charmaine (who is still on sabbatical!) unpacks the familiar story of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet, where Jesus was showing them (and us!) how He wanted them to act towards each other and towards the world around them. He came to serve, not to be served, and we likewise have the high calling to do the same!
Right before Charmaine went on sabbatical this past fall, she filmed one last teaching and left it on my (Jason’s) desk for me to edit and release… and I finally opened it up and looked at it! 🔥😭 This topic may not sound flashy or attractive, and you might even wonder what this has to do with singing on our worship teams… but OH YES it has EVERYTHING to do with it!
Please—don’t skip this one! If we are involved in ministry in the “spotlight,” serving on stages and platforms, pride is always lurking at the door. Inviting us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought. Tempting us to believe that our churches and congregations are “blessed” to have our “gift.” The path of lowliness and humility can be especially difficult to find.
Let it not be said of us! We must see the Servant One and become like Him!
